Slovakia defender Martin Skrtel faces a spell on the sidelines after damaging posterior cruciate ligaments in his right knee during Liverpool's 3-2 win at Manchester City. The centre-back does not need surgery for a serious-looking injury, and Liverpool revealed that Skrtel should return before Christmas. "It's bad news, but we have other options," said manager Rafael Benitez, who has central defensive cover in Daniel Agger and Sami Hyppia.
