DEAN ASHTON

Dean Ashton will be out until the new year after the England striker underwent ankle surgery. The 24-year-old had the arthroscopic procedure after injuring his left ankle in training and being sidelined since mid-September. Ashton, who won his only England cap in June, has been plagued by injuries since joining West Ham from Norwich City halfway through the 2005/06 campaign.
